Hey! I've got an Otto Intake System too! I thought I was the only one out there w/ a knock-off AEM.

In all honesty, I love it. I was worried that the chrome coating over the aluminum tube would heat up too much. I felt some AEM tubes and they have a powder coated finish that lowers (at least to the touch on the outside) the the amount of heat that is absorbed. So I coated my intake with some bright red paint (several coats), then used an acrylic clear coat finish. Now my intake feels nice and cool to the touch too!

looks nice and is a good buy since I don't see the benefit from spending all that money for a new intake to get maybe 4hp.

The tubing is polished aluminum--not chromed at all. Polishing is actually a pain to keep up--I would have preferred powder coat. I'm considering wrapping the upper tube with header wrap to keep the temperature down. Maybe, maybe not.

Suggestion: get the "net" (for lack of the proper word) cover for your filter, it will stay clean longer. From K&N if they will sell it separately.

Looks good. I hate to tell you, but your butt-dyno is off. The most you will ever see from an intake alone is like 3 maybe 4 rwhp, but there will be some increase in throttle response.
however, the K&N filter does increase rwhp by about 5 alone. so i wouldn't be surprised to see a gain of about 6-7 rwhp.

i just ordered this intake. guess i'll have to get the vacuum lines as well.

actually, i thought having a AEM cold air had less throttle response, well from my experience.

I agree. Cold air intakes generally produce more power higher up in the
powerband with the sacrifice of low end torque. when i think of throttle response
i think of a dash from like 4k to redline - it should naturally seem a bit sluggier
from this engine speed due to the longer tubing that the air has to flow through.

at least that's what i've read/felt in the past....

It looks like it's begging for water to enter it. I found one on ebay called sonoma motorsports or something for around 120 shipped. It looked really nice and was red and I almost bought it, but I was concerned about water. It just sits out in the open down there with nothing protecting it? That's scary.

I didn't get the Otto, I got the DarkForce AEM Copy. Same sort of deal. Doesn't have a K&N, but I have a SS Blitz laying around. The DarkForce doesn't have the intake nipples though. It had robber gromet inserts like the civic intakes have. So I had to go to autozone and buy 2, 3/8" fuel fittings, One with 3\8" screw in and one with 5\"8 screw in. Other then that it's nice. All black nice quality. No instructions, but boy was I glad this thread was made, helped alot. It was $32 on ebay. I'll try and get pics tonight.
