Default Cold Air System...Please help!!!

Hi All,

I recently drove a buddy's S2k with the Injet COLD AIR System. I found the throttle control to be much smoother than the stock K&N replacement I had on my S2k. The power seems to be noticeably difference when V-Tech kicks in, downshifting seems to be the biggest difference(much smoother). All and all it seems like a great system to get. The only concern I have is with the WATER issue. Will I run into this issue when driving in the rain? How bad is it for the engine if just little water gets in? Please help cause I really want this system but don't want to risk the reliability of the engine.

Thanks in Advance,
Gixx

A little water is no different than the water misting systems out there. Do a search and you'll find plenty of threads on this issue.

I installed a 4IGS2000 intake (AEM clone) and the first time it was rained on, the filter was soaked. I knew right away when I tried to start it that there was a problem. It coughed and sputtered and finally started, but was running with a miss. It smoothed out after a minute or so of running, but the filter was still wet after a 40 minute drive home. I think that this will be a problem with any of the snorkel type CAI's, because the drain for the gutter

I guess we're just talking at cross purposes, I usually hear the spoon/j's/mugen/iDi intakes refered to as "snorkel" intakes because the chute that goes from the front bumper up to the filter

That is pretty impressive. I have driven my friend's S2000 (also an '02) many times, but I am certain I couldn't notice a 2-3 HP change in it.
