Default Compression Test

So i did a compression test and since im removing my head i was thinking of replacing all the rings but keep the same pistons...
Can you do that..

my compression read 180 220 235 0 (0 was because of broken valve hopefully)
the 180 came from the number 4 piston..

So back to the question, can u just replace the rings on all of the pistons...
Would i need to do anything to the block (i really dont want to take the tranny off again)
Also would u need to replace bearings or reuse..
I have about 80,000 miles..

Hmmm, you can't really replace rings without honing the bore. Well you can but they won't seat properly.

And if you're taking out the pistons You have to disassemble the conrods so you may as well replace the big end bearings.

Seriously though, unless you do a rebuild you're doing a half baked job.

And I think it's going to be very tough to pull the pistons with the engine still in the car. You will have a much easier job with the rebuild by pulling the motor.

Do a leakdown test. Then you'll know exactly where you stand in regards to where you're losing compression.

I dropped a valve and was in the same boat as you. With a new rotating assembly and block @ $2200ish, you may want to consider that route...
