I cleaned a Comptech filter for a friend when I was in San Fran. It might just work if you use the Vortech flex hose to the filter. However, that Comptech box is pretty big, so could be tight.
I'm using the JR filter that I made my own shroud out of a plastic plant pot.
I think Vortechs flex hose is part of the problem. What I was concerned about was the clearance between the box and the hair dryer as I think the two superchargers sit a bit differently. I face alot of heat here in the summer too so I'm still trying to bring in cool air through the fender. I thought maybe the larger box would help the flow. I figured on having to change the hose if I had to.
I've done it, but you have to hack a huge section out of the Comptech box to clear the Vortech SC. It's either that, or remove the SC to install the box. (Not gonna happen on my car) I built a fiberglass plug to fill the hole, then covered the glass with foil tape.
The SC snail sits farther to the passengers side on a Vortech, compared to the Comptech. The angle the Comptech filter attaches is also different. I had to enlarge the opening to fit my allready oversized KN 1023 filter. I even used a "new" neoprene mousepad to seal the opening around the filter.
