Default Comptech Intake Owners - HELP

Okay, I tried to be extra cautious when installing the intake so as not to mess up the vacuum lines.

Well, after 1 day I got a CEL. Went ahead and reset it but it came back on after another day. The car runs fine, but the CEL has to go.

When installing the intake, I followed the instructions from comptech. However I must have crossed the lines up somewhere or I wouldn't get the CEL.

One area of question........the Air Control Solenoid Valve (which is now mounted upside down per the instructions) has two outlets on the right side. One is looped with a 5" line to the vacuum tank, and the other connects to the lower vacuum tube (under the fuel rail). Since it is now mounted upside down, is the "top" outlet as it appears, or is it now the bottom outlet. Make sense?

I'm just grasping and looking for help from experienced Comptech intake owners.

Thanx a bunch,
Hockey

Yup, I've used that one before. While it is not specific to the Comptech, it does match what I have done. I just went out and double-checked again.

The check valve is facing the right way, and the tubes all seem to go to the correct places.

I think I'll go get the CEL code pulled at lunch.

It isn't very easy to diagnose over the web, so I appreciate all the help.

As the valve sits now the top port is looped to the tank and the lower port is connected to the vaccum port going to the intake manifold port. Make sure you have the vaccum lines that run next to the fuel rail going to the right locations. This is easy to mix-up if you pulled them both off. The vaccum line with the check valve goes to the secondary air valve located at the rear of the intake manifold.

Well, I pulled the CEL code and it is "P0411", which is the vacuum lines alright.

As an experiment, I swapped the two lines that exit the air control solenoid, but the CEL came back. I put the lines back to what I think is the correct orientation for now.

Looks like I'll have to get someone else to look at it next. I've re-checked my work so many times now, I have the thing memorized (but probably still wrong).

Argh!!!

I had the same problem last weekend. Mine were just that the hoses that connect right next to the fuel rail were not put back in all the way. Im sure you already checked those though as they are in sight.

I had the same CEL code when I installed mine. I also had it when I removed it and wenty back to stock. Can you post a picture in your vac lines from the from the intake manifold to the "F" connector?

Thanks guys, I'll take all the suggestions I can get.

I don't have my digi-cam with me, but I'll post some pics tomorrow.

By "F" connector........do you mean the solenoid valve? I'll take a few different pics.
