I would guess its cosamean spelling?
they spray the undercarriage and engine area down before it goes on the boat.
some people think it smells like brakes or clutch.
some may get a rubber smell?
if you got the brakes hot enough to make the stuff get hot that may be what your smelling.
like I said don't worry be happy.

What is cosamean spelling ?

Mine is definitely like a burning rubber smell from the rear wheel wells and it goes away after a minute or two when the car is off. If its something they spray on the car then hopefully it will wear off soon Or is there anything i can spray underneath that will more quickly eliminate the smell ?

Hi,
I bought my s2000 about a week ago w/ 19 miles on it, and I already put 440 miles on her!
But I didn't experience any burning smell coming from the car.

Regarding the break-in article;
I also read that article before, but still, I'm following the "no VTEC before 600 miles" rule.
I don't baby my S, don't get me wrong. I do accelerate pretty hard when it's warmed-up but I don't want to exceed 5k RPM before reaching the mileage that the manual's suggesting.
It might be a VTEC thing, and correct me if I'm wrong but those bikes don't have VTEC.
Just my $0.02

Dan

I am not 100% sure thats what it is but its a common problem with motorcycles when they are shipped.
when we get bikes they get a good water wash and have less problems with smells.

"cosamean" I really don't know how to spell it smells so that may be it.

if it does not go away for a while I would have it looked at.
you may have bigger problems.

most bikes don't have vetc but I think there were a few running around with some type of variable valve system.
as for not going into vetc I really don't see a problem with it.
all you are changing is the cam profile.
in turn you are getting more air and fuel at a different crank position.
I may not be 100% accurate with my definition but close.

I would not worry about it if I were you but its not my car its yours if you did what I said I should just run for prez!!
