Default Correct Tires

How can I recognize, the right S02 tires for the S2K? Is there something printed on the side of the tire that differentiates it from a normal S02 PP? I'm asking that because here in Italy some tires salesmans (?????) are selling normal S02 PP telling that they are the correct tires for the S2K (it happens to a couple of my friends).
Another question: which are the OEM tires for the S2K 2002?
Thank you in advance guys.
Bye,

Gianluca

Gianluca,

here you go:

front: 205/55-16 89W Potenza S02 JZ - Article #081-612
rear: 225/50-16 92W Potenza S02 JZ - Article #081-620

The "JZ" is printed on the tires. The Article # is used for ordering.

I haven't heard of any tire changes for the 2002 models.

you might want to flp through a few pages of the The Tire Rack's Tire and Wheel Forum on this site. Quite informative.

Ted, is the "JZ" printed only in the OEM S02? Sorry for my insistence but unfortunately I can't compare the tires because I've never had the OEM S02, when I bought the car there was on it PIRELLI P ZERO and now I still have those tires very bold.

I believe so.

Please do a search in the TireRack forum for "JZ" and you should find the original message from someone who found out about the JZ and the article numbers.

The sure-fire way is to look for that 89 and 92 load rating. Also, our SO-2's are "W" speed rated. Non-Honda-OEM are "Z" rated I believe. W is better, despite being lower on the alphabetic food chain.
