Default Is this a counterfeit OEM radiator cap?

See photos. I bought this on eBay and it seemed legit from the listing and I usually have a good sense of these things. When I received it, the packaging did not resemble the type that Honda parts usually come in and the cap itself just feels cheap. Anyone run into this before?

That's not genuine, it will seep coolant, you'll notice when the sticker comes off. A true genuine one will cost you ~$16-20 and worth every penny.

I figured as much. Not even going to bother putting this one on my car. Thanks.

Amazon note says "this part does not fit your 2006 S2000."

Honda dealer, surprisingly enough, can get the right part: 19045-RAA-003 its my 2006 car. Don't know what car you have...

The counterfeit OEM parts business is huge.

Financial Impact
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) estimates that counterfeit automobile parts cost the global automotive parts industry $12 billion in lost sales a year, including $3 billion in the U.S. alone. The FTC also estimates that the U.S. auto parts industry lost sales to counterfeit parts correlates to approximately 200,000 - 250,000 fewer manufacturing jobs.

Thanks for the education. I wonder if this also includes all the "replica" lips that everyone seems to love.

Fakes are sold as genuine. Replicas are sold for what they are, copies. "My Rolex isn't a fake, it's a replica."

Doubtful it includes replica oem lips as those are "small beans" and not trying to be passed off as authentic. The "counterfeit industry" for OEM parts is the big leagues....it's companies out of X countries selling wholesale quantities (thousands or millions) to end users, repair shops and unsuspecting dealerships (some dealers try to save a buck and not buy from the manufacturer). They're 100% trying to pass their fake product off as real, authentic OEM parts. It goes without saying that it can be dangerous as they don't even shy away from safety parts like seat belts, air bags, etc.
