Default Cracking Inner Axle Boot - Safe to Drive/Track?

Hi,

Do you guys think it is safe to track my car with the inner axle boot cracking? I don't see any grease leaking?

I want to do 2 track days this months with 400 miles (driving to/from track) before addressing. Thoughts?

No!

I'm not sure your level of driving on the track, but it will get really hot and grease will be liquefied even expand. Once it rips, no more grease in it and will damage axle. further more, grease on track surface could cause damage to other car as well.

I give following 2 orders to my students.

1. Go home with the car you came with. - safely.
2. Have fun.

If that breaks, above not happening.

This is on the passenger side.

Will I need to redo my alignment to fix this? I read you need to remove knuckle off the lower ball in order to get enough clearance to slide the axle off.

Lower ball joint is a fixed point, and removing/reinstalling will not disturb the alignment.
