Default Cruse Control not working

I don't use it often, but I occasionally make some long trips, so I would like for it to work when I need it.

The CC Button lights up, and the Cluster Light comes on when I hit set, and stays on, but the speed just drops when I let off the gas.

Any common issues that would cause both lights to stay on as if it were working, but it not be?

Thanks, Really injoying my AP1, I've had it 3 days now! woo hoo!

You could check the brake and clutch switches but I'm not sure the dash light would come on if they were bad. Maybe a fuse?

Was your car ever modded? Some people take out the CC...

nothing more than the cd player had been changed.

I found one other thread, but lost it, where someone had changed their cd player and the same symptoms were happening... but I can't find it. It also did not have a resolution.

Is your foot completely off of the clutch pedal when setting speed? the slightest touch could disengage/not engage cruise control. Some drivers keep their foots resting on the clutch, just a hunch. Hope you figure it out.

no, my foot is not on the clutch. The light saying it is activated(one in the cluster that appears after set is pressed) stays illuminated but nothing happens as far as the cruise taking over.

if both lights are staying on and you're not maintaining speed then something is wrong. ignore the dumb posts. there are a lot of n00bs who rest their foot on the clutch pedal and wonder why cc doesn't work...

i'd check the actuator first. it removes in less than 5 minutes.

bench test it w/ a 12v source. it should rotate to the fully-rotated (open) position and hold until you remove power.

let me know how this goes and get back to me. i troubleshot the whole cc system on my car so i'm extremely familiar with it.

Will do, thank you. I have not closely examined the actuator wiring yet, but I assume multiple wires are going to it. any information/diagram on what is gnd, pwr, control, etc?
