cusco lower member bar (front)

Debating on the one that looks like a U and the more angular one...which one is newer, I also heard one of them had to be removed in order to change oil, correct?

I bought a Cusco type II copy. I have to use a ring spanner instead of a socket so adds all of 20 seconds to my oil change
