Default CV Axle the same on both sides?

I'm replacing my driver side cv axle assembly because of the "clicks" and the "shakes" and some minor power loss during accel, and i came across a passenger side axle that was dirt cheap.

Is there a difference?

I think they are different legnths. Someone may be able to confirm this. I remember reading a few threads about the difference. If it;s onlt the " Click" thay may be tour axel nut torque. This is a known problem. You need to unbend the notch on the nut and retorque to 220 ft lbs. Could also be a bad hub or bearing.

thanks, i've already tried re-torqued the axle nut, no change. It "clicks" several times, during load on the axle in other words during accel.
I have a new bearing sitting here, new nuts and getting driver side half shaft tomorrow. The only thing i'm not replacing is the hub. Hopefully i won't have to.

I found a passenger side half shaft for a ridiculous price and was hoping they where the same. I'm mean the diff is in the middle, wouldn't both sides be the same length?

I've done this...and yes the half-shafts are different lengths. The passenger side is a bit longer. You will need to swap the inner CVs only.

yeah i know that i could prob fix the problem by swapping just the inner cv joint, i figured it was easier to just swap the whole shaft. It's already orded so, i'm cool with swaping it all.

Darn, the driver side is like $200 cheaper. *itches

No, it is not easier, but it is a whole lot less messy. Ask me how I know. And as is my case, simply swapping the inner cv's may not solve the problem.

shioot. So are you going to continue to replace or just live with the click?

No clicking, but had the shuddering under acceleration. I tried simply retorquing the axle nuts, but that yielded no difference. I then swapped cv cups side-to-side. The driver's side cup was definitely pitted. Now I have the same shuddering and a "clunk" when shifting gears, but no "click." As for "just living with it," hell no. When I get on the track, I need to know that things are right so I can concentrate on the task at hand and not the health of the car.

Here is the parts list for the two shafts. It looks like the shaft themselves have different part numbers.
