CV Joint replacement
My CV joints are vibrating really badly as of yesterday (been noticable prior to this, but yesterday it got much worse while driving down the road).
I got a quote from my local dealer for $885.00 to do both sides using OEM parts.
They said I could save 3-400 using aftermarket/rebuilt but the warranty wouldnt be as good.
I would do it myself but I dont have the time, space or tools to do it.
Is there a certain aftermarket or rebuilt brand that would be good?
Would I be better off sticking with OEM?
I have no problem paying for the full work quote, but if I could save myself a few hundred bones, that would be nice.

If you have a mechanic you trust, you can have him swap the CVs from right-side to left-side and vis versa. No new parts, just labor, and it works as well as getting new/rebuilt CVs.
I realize that, but the one guy I trust to help me is not going to have time to do so for at least 3 weeks, and I do not want to run that long on them the way they are.
The dealer said they can do remanufactured axles only, not cv joints. It would still be cheaper.
Is this a reasonable option?
I hate to keep questioning, I'm just hesitant about putting non-honda parts on such a critical component but I also want to save money if possible.

Negcamber's point is that you don't have to buy anything. Just swap the inner CV joints or the entire half shafts from left to right. By doing this, you're running them in the reverse direction that they were running before. Since you haven't worn out the inner joints in the reverse direction yet, it should be like new.

I've already searched and researched the swap.
I dont want to come across like a prick because I really appreciate the comments, but I will say it again that I do not have the time/place/tools, and the one person I would trust to do it will not be able to do so for weeks and the vibration is quite problematic to the point where I do not want to wait 3-4 weeks to do the swap because it feels like the car is going to shake itself apart in the meantime if I dont baby it.
Any input on my actual questions in the meantime?

It could be months as he just recently took a job as a long haul trucker and may be on the road constantly. He isnt sure yet.
If I had the space here, I would take a day and do it myself, but I have no garage and weather is not getting any better for me to even think about doing it outside.

You have already searched and researched the swap. So, How long ago was that? How long has it been vibing? And now you are pushing the issue to get a cheap fix?
Maybe you should have had your trusty trucker do the cup flip along time ago and all would be good or not.
It seems they're charging about an hour of work and 2 new axles. That's actually a pretty good price for OEM replacement.
