Default damaged cylinders?

how can you tell which cylinder is damaged? honda says i have to bore out my cylinders and put in bigger pistons. is there anyway to tell that, thats the problem for sure? i've already pulled out the coil packs one by one to see if the knocking sound stops but it hasnt so i cant tell which one is the problem one. next i'll be trying to measure the height to see if all the cylinders are the same and not one is higher than the other. all your help is appreciated

Hmmm.....the problem sounds like it's coming from your head, not the block. Could be caused by incomplete and/or run on sentences, or--worst case scenario--could involve grammatical issues that are too plentiful to mention. A diagnosis will require working through those issues first.

my car is making a loud knocking sound when i start up the car and when i rev the engine at around 2-4k rpm. i sent the car into honda and they said i need to "bore my head" or something about boring out my cylinders and putting in bigger pistons because its damaged and i could get it machined but it would just increase the size of my cylinders. and some honda tech told me to pull out my coil packs one by one to find out which cylinder is damaged because if the sound goes away if i pull out one of it than thats the problem cylinder.

but i did that today and that did nothing, so i'm wondering how else i would be able to tell that i need to bore out my cylinders for sure.

......you took your car to honda to have a "knocking" sound checked out?
when they were done with their diagnostic, you were told that you have damaged cylinders and the cylinders would have to be bored out?
the honda tech told you to remove the coil one-by-one to isolate wich cylinder is the damaged one? you tried this but you were not able to isolate the damaged cylinder?

did the service writer explain to you what happened or what was wrong that damaged your cylnider wall that they needed to be bored out?
the mechanic that told you to remove the coils....was he the one that checked out your car or not? if he was, why didnt he just tell you witch cylinder was damaged?
did you happen to make a recording of youre conversation between you and the service writer that you can share with us?

not sure how removing the coils would make the knocking stop to isolate the damaged cylinder. Everthing would still be turning. might want to take the head off.

The first thing we need to know is why the mechanic who diagnosed the problem left it to you to find out which cylinder was causing the problem. I can't imagine this happening at a Honda dealership.
and I can't imagine a honda tech would tell you to bore and sleeve your cylinders without tearing down the engine
