Thumbs up dashboard swap difficulty? Swapping out for lcd

I'm looking to swap dashboards with a local member who is going back to stock and I'm putting his dash with touchscreen into my car and him visa versa..
I did a search and didn't see any good info on it.
Has anyone done the install? Is it hard to do? Any special tools needed for it? What has to be removed to get to it etc..

Is the touch screen even steven swap?
...meaning all sensors (water temp-oil pressure-fuel level- speed sensor-rpm...and such) will synch to the gauge?

Sensor and gauge should match. There is a resistor at the sensor.
I'm still having problem using after market gauge but I'm close.

Hmm lost me there.
I am not swapping any gauges or anything just the actual dashboard thing.

Oh maybe I should change title to dashboard. Did you think I meant I was swapping the actual digital dash part?

Yeah! I thought it's the dash gauge with touch screen.
My bad.

Yeah changed the title. I am swapping dashboards with a local member since his has a 7" lcd touchscreen installed already and going back to stock.

It's not easy, if you are swapping with the same generation AP1, or AP2 I'd swap clusters instead of pulling the pad of the frame and wire harness.

It comes out as a big sub assembly, after removing the steering column, radio and the trim around the windshield. you'll also have to unplug all the connections to the dash harness.

Buy a Helm manual to walk yourself through the swap. www.helminc.com

Wait why would I have to unplug all those things for the dashboard? Thought it just covered everything. There are electrical connections attached to it??

Because the dash harness runs through the assembled dash.
