Default Dealer Recommended?

Dealer recommend "internal engine flush" with near 30000 mile service. What does this entail? Do they just pour new oil in and let it run out? Is this necessary?

No.

Regular oil changes with quality oil is the best thing for your engine in terms of prolonging life. In the past, sludge could build up from poor quality oil combined with improper change intervals. Modern oils are so much better that flushes only serve to line the pockets of shops that push them on consumers.

No, no.... maybe they are referring to a coolant flush. I thought they indicated around that mileage for a flush and fill.

no tehy rae talking about this process they hav where they hook this machine up to the intake, start the car and then run it. its like a super seafoam thing.

what it does is clean out all of the caked on carbon off the piston heads and off of the valves/combustion faces. its ok to do in a new car but in a car with some miles on it its not reccomended. sometimes that flushing of the engine can clean it too well removing carbon deposits that were sealing up little issues like a bad ring or a bad ringland.

iits a toss up. if you wnana do it go ahead but i wouldnt waiste the money. besides more carbon = more compression

Another way for them to make money, not necessary. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Get a bottle of BG44k for 19 bucks pretty much anywhere and it will do 80% of a decent flush.
