I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow morning.

I have a buzzing sound coming from my transmission and I'm getting them to check it out.

What should I look forward to in a general diagnosis?

What happened to your cars? Was it a factory defect?

How long did your repairs take?

 

yea it is a defect.

the clutch springs vibrate. the problem is more an annoyance, it is NOT serious.

The fix is a new clutch. no ifs, ands or buts. SOMETIMES, Honda will goodwill the work, but if you are a new owner of this car with no service history, you don't have a chance in hell of that.

 

my recomendation is to wait until the the clutch wear out, and change it...i did the same thing...but the bad news is that after a period of time the buzz comes back...but with some catback you wont hear anything but the sweet sound of the exhaust..

 

lol, I just bought MY01 on 4/21 with the extended warranty, do you think they'd cover it?

 

The clutch decel buzz thing was a Technical Service Bulletin that was applied to customers with the basic factory warranty still in effect. This was done to keep customers "happy" even though it did not adversely affect the function the clutch or the car. Give it a try but I doubt that an extended warranty will mean much for this kind of coverage.

This is just a noise. I've had this buzz since Nov. of 2000. So has many other owners. The car runs fine. I'll get it taken care of when the clutch is worn out.

 

Any chance of it getting covered if its a certified used car with the 7yr powertrain dealie, since that is like an extended orignal warranty.

In a nutshell - very unlikely.

 

TSB-054 was issued to dealers as how to deal with your issue. Replacement was the cure. Good luck

Yup, mine too. Not serious, but it's SO irritating though. Almost takes some of the fun away, because it always makes me want to just put it in neutral so it'll shut up...

A new clutch will help though, huh?
