If Iridium was an option in 2000 Honda might have used them over platinum. Most manufacturers are using Iridium now as the center electrode erodes more slowly as compared to steel and platinum. NGK Iridiums are my preference, no sense using platinums these days.

Had a 18 civic 1.5t in today for plugs and valve lash. original iridiums with 99k on them still holding gap at .28/29.
