Detailing engine cabin...
Found this video of someone giving a tutorial on engine bay cleaning where they are, surprisingly, using an S2000 as the car.

I have soaked countless S2000 engines/entire compartments with the hose on shower setting. No direct streams.
The only thing I do is stuff a towel in the air intake and that's it.

I rinse the bay, then use P21s All Purpose Cleaner to spray everywhere, a soft brush IF needed, rinse.
Close the hood(after removing anything you placed in the bay) and start it up to dry it.
Spray cd2 engine detailer all over everything and then go for a drive to essentially dry the dressing on.
If you ever see the engines with etching all over the block,......most likely from Simple Green. It might be "safe" if you rinse it right awway or dilute it, but I am not taking any chances as I have seen countless wheels destroyed the same way

1/20 dish soap to water in a spray bottle works great as cleaner/degreaser. I cover the alternator, intake, and battery, spray on the cleaner, agitate with a brush where it needs it, wipe down everything, do a very brief rinse with the hose, then close the hood and run the engine to dry. Finish off with some 303.
