Diagnosis Help!
Hello Everyone,
So about 2 months ago my clutch started to act differently than before. The pedal started losing a lot of pressure and had difficulty engaging in gear, not to mention being almost impossible to throw the knob into a gear. So I went to my mechanic who subsequently tells me that my clutch is fine but my master cylinder needs to be replaced. I let him replace the worn out part and he sent me off. I had to get used to the new clutch feel but the shifts were nice and strong.
Fast forward one month: the clutch loves to disengage for a quick second as i engage the clutch into gear, then catches again. It almost feels like a clutch slip but not quite, maybe more of a clutch "bounce." Makes it feel like the engine bogs when it isn't. The clutch is also sensitive to quicker shifts and I really have to granny shift to get somewhat non jerky shifts; to a non car guy it feels like the synchromesh isnt working anymore... It is frustrating me a lot because it forces me to shift like a noob when I used to shift so smoothly before.
I should note that my differential fluid is 200 miles over a reflush, would supposedly broken down fluid be the cause of my jerky shifts?
I am hesitant taking my car back to this mechanic. Does it sound like I need a new clutch even though the guy said it was fine?
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
