Default Diagnostic Tools - Where/Whom to buy?

I have a nice selection of basic tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, etc., etc.) but am now in the market for a 'specialty' automobile items.

After two quotes in excess of $150.00 to do a cylinder compression test, I figured I would take the plunge and do it myself. The Helms manual is on the way. Sears carries a compression tool (+/- $25.00) but how does somebody know if it is any good? Does Matco or Snap-On make one? How could you get one from them?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

A compression tester is such a simple device, I would buy the cheapest one I could find. A +/- 10% error on the reading is not going to mean anything. The Helm's manual lists such a broad range for compression anyway, and it is more important to see a difference between cylinders, or change over time, than it is to see an actual number (i.e. 224.7397 PSI).
