Did the annual tranny and diff fluid change today. Plucked the diff drain bolt out of the drain pan and it looked like this. The big metal chunk definitely worries me... What condition do you guys think my diff is in?

 

That's an ear from one of the washers. It has been noted as happening on a few diffs , last I heard it is okay to find one or two of them, but if you start to find more it will eventually need replacing.

 

Yup dif will be fine.

I've pulled these tabs from 4 or so difs and all are trouble free.
