Default Did I overrev?

So I was going about 65mph (70 at most) on a freeway connector in 6th, when it started to turn (I think the limit posted on the turn is 20 or 25), I braked, heel & toed to 5th and then heel & toed to 4th. At this exact moment, I felt a really strong jolt, I heard the tires squeal and the rear lost grip. The car fish-tailed a bit while I was turning. I shifted it back to neutral, then back to 4th. Thankfully I did not hit anyone. My question is, did I misshift to 2nd causing the rear to slip? If I did, did I overrev the car by any chance? I was not looking at my RPMs at this time because I was trying to control the car....

I think 2nd gear can go up to 60mph before hitting redline? I'm on AP2 btw.

Your fine, the AP2 can rev up to 8600 without any damage. You probably didnt even go that high. Youll KNOW when you over-reved. The car will barely be drivable and idle like a diesel truck.

The reason you lost traction was because since you shifted to second the car jolted forward and lifted the rear tires off the ground a bit causing you to lose traction. When they came back down thats when they squeeled.

i dont think that is always the case. i remember reading stuff about tiny fractures in the valves/retainers, that are not noticeable while driving, but eventually get worse.

If you were going 70mph and dropped it into 5th before going into 2nd, you should be fine.

How good is your heel-toeing. Any chance you let the rpms fall too far before you let off the clutch? That'll give you the same feeling.

The question is, did the engine rev up? If not, then maybe you just had an uncoordinated shift.

Does anyone here know what the max speeds are per gear (at redline)? Thanks.
