Default Diff adjustment

Rebulding my diff with one from a kia (it seems UK kia's are 4.625 too for anyone that's interested, although i know nothing of the vehicle it came off, in the ebay auction it said "kia sportage 1994-whatever the MY was front diff" Thats all i know

Anyway i've got to reassembly, and although i left my clock at work (dial indicator, clock what have you) i only know theres "a bit" of backlash in there, i cant quantify it.

I decided to prussian blue it and just try to get an idea for this checking technique (never tried it before, although i am an engineer so i'm not a total mechanical klutz) and this is what i'm seeing:

looks good to me but i want to hear someone who knows more than me say that haha

Also, are the bearing cap thingys (the bits im adjusting) really really tight? I need to make a tool to tighten them yet, but im like 3/4's of a turn away from my markings from dissembly, although i've only tightened it with pliars yet - is that normal, is it normal to expect to have to tighten it that much further after the bearings are touching?

Sorry for the rambling, thanks in advance.

Pattern looks to far to the outside of the tooth but looks ok up and down. You made need to shim the carrier side to side.
