Default diff going?

i have an 01 ap1 with 63k on it now. i notice a good whining sound coming from the rear end. its not the tires. i changed my diff fluid about 2k ago and it was clear.. no flakes of metal shavings or anything. im just wondering if the whining is a sign that it is going to blow up. if it is the case, where can i find a stronger diff for a reasonable price(well s2k reasonable). i plan on going boost in a few months. it is my dd so id rather get this taking care of asap rather then it break on me. im looking for it to hold around 450whp. it will only see the dragstrip a couple of times but mostly a fun street car.

That's the diff. It's either a snapped tooth, or it's worn itself out of spec. Have it rebuilt, or run it till it blows and order a spare.

well.. doing 8k drop will do it.. if you are going Boost with 400+ you should looking into a Inline Pro kit, then you will not have to worry about the diff again. or the puddy diff is good to..
