ok but we can use the FM in the tranny though right?
Unless it is GM Syncromesh "FM" which is a transmission oil product pre-blended with 'Friction Modifiers'.

how loud was the whine, before you changed to LE607?
The whine was not very loud, but was very noticable when I decelerate and sometimes when accelerating. After changing the diff oil, the whine significantly decreased.

Do you have aftermarket gears? If so, and you have 4.57's then this is not unusual. If you have other gears, then this may not be normal and you might have some calibration problems that should get looked at. If you have the stock gears, the whine may be an indication of some sort of damage. Masking the whine with fluid won't make such damage go away nor will it help it to stop.

Without the answers to my questions, I can't say. At the very least, you should have someone knowledgeable listen to it.

I started out by changing my diff fluid with Redline 75w-90 @ 5k then at 7500 I changed the diff over to LE607 because I won a free bottle of it at the Dragon run.
Both are good products, but the LE rep claimed they would warranty the diff againt lubrication failures if we(the s2000 community) used their product.

Find me ONE recorded case where a diff got replaced under the oil company's warranty due to lubrication failure and you might be onto something. Otherwise, it's just smoke and mirrors. That goes not just for LE but all the other companies that make the same claims.

Don't get me wrong, I like their product, but to buy because of that warranty is faulty thinking imho.

This statement is a bit odd and misleading. What if "we, the S2000 community" do not, in general, use their product? Will they still warranty the diffs of the few who do?
I'm tending to agree with Ludedude. Although it would seem that LE is a good product, I'm not real impressed with their marketing stragegy. They seem just a bit too aggressive and a bit too anxious to "get in your face" for my liking. Ever since LE became known to this forum, they've been hitting us with their sales pitch hot and heavy. Only when they were told to not do this, did they back off.
Since it seems to be such a good product, it should be allowed to sell itself.
As with any warranty, I'm sure there are a lot of loopholes. I'm wondering if anyone has ever gotten a free engine from using Quaker State motor oil.
