Default difference between the f20c and f22c

i can look up the differences in the specs between the two engines, but I don't really know what they mean. i have searched the forum for similar posts, but none have satisfied me.
i am planning to get either an f20c or f22c engine and i am planning on boosting it. i don't know too much about engines, so i don't understand what the differences really mean, such as why the redline matters. i don't know which one has more horsepower either.

if your going to boost it I would go with the F22. It likes boost. But I believe the internal difference is the f22 has a longer stroke. So i think the differences would be in shortblock. Pistons, rods, and crank I beleive. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

The bore is the same on both engines, but the stroke is longer on the f22.

Specs (Bore x Stroke):

F20C - 87.0 mm (3.425 in) x 84.4 mm (3.323 in)

F22C - 87.0 mm (3.425 in) x 90.7 mm (3.571 in)

I believe the lengthened stroke is the main reason for the 8k redline.

you have a lot of research to do if you don't know the significance of different redline numbers or which has "more horsepower" (they're both rated at 237hp at the crank, but the F22 seems to consistently produce higher whp numbers on the dyno).

do some googling, thats my honest-to-god advice.

Not meaning to be offensive to the OP, however honda4LIFE, your questions make it sound like you do not know very much about the general basics of internal combustion engines and how they work.

It's clear that if you are intending on boosting the engine, you will have a local shop/tuner do the work for you. Why don't you ask them their recommendations and reasoning (it will also help you gauge their experience and capabilities) and then use this forum to check against what they say and make sure they aren't full of it.
