Default Differential fluid flushed/changed...Causes or Concerns?

Looking to buy a S2K, and one of the services was Differential fluid flushed/changed at 21,222 miles...

is this a common service? or what would cause to have this service? is it a symptom of a tranny problem?

That would be a good question for the seller. Why did they do it?

Regular changing of the differential fluid is part of the vehicle maintenance program that all owners should follow. Most people recommend changing it every 15k miles, so what you saw done at 20,000 miles was likely one of the diff. fluid service intervals. I dump mine once a year regardless of miles, not even close to 15k miles, but it's cheap maintenance IMO. With only about .8 quarts sump capacity of the differential I prefer to change it more often than recommended. Replacing a differential isn't something I want to do, so I hope to keep mine running well for a long time.

Themikewoo has a great link to the service schedule and DIY's, great info

i'm pedantic, motor oil changed every 2k/trackday. trany/diff every 6k or trackday. its 3 quarts between the trans n diff! tranny fluid from the dealer is 16 bucks, diff fluid is 10. motor oil is more expensive.
