Default differential lock up

This is what happened, I was accelerating on first gear and @ about 8200 rpm the rear of the car locked up causing the s2k to spin out of control. Luckily I didn't make contact with any thing. I came to a stop switched off the s2k trying to regain some composure. After 10mins or so I started the s2k and put first gear in to see what happens and surprisingly the car moves so I drive slowly to home and the car works normal through 1st 2nd 3rd but I didn't dare go into or above 6000rpms. Any opinions on what could have happened and if it's a. differential issue? I drained the diff oil and noticed small amounts of metal filings on the drain plug and some metal flakes but I think it's minimal .

I am also driving the car as usual with new diff oil(75w 140) for the past two days with no issues, have not ventured in to the vtec temple as yet so I don't know if these diffs act in this manner

Locked up?
As in: the wheels - both of them - stopped turning?
(btw.. that would stall the engine unless you're quick enough to press the clutch)
Did it happen accelerating out of a turn?
Did you loose traction a little, lifted and .... whoops-there-you-go?
Old worn (skinny rear) tires on a wet road?
Dirt on the road?

Just asking

I've never had that happen to me. The only time I've had the car swing out on me was when I tried to launch at a red light with a bad rear upper control arm joint. Check your bushing to see if maybe one of them is torn and upsetting your cars balance

Are you sure the wheels locked up, and not lost traction (due to something unseen on road, etc)? If you instantly lost traction, both tires spinning you could easily spin out like that.

What happens with a torsen if one wheel locks up (like if a wheel bearing or brake caliper siezes)? Does it send all power to the other wheel, or does it try to lock the other wheel too?
