My car has never liked first unless its warm, but i seem to have become automatic on hitting 2nd then first when cold.. really not a big bother to me, at least master/slave cylinder/reservoir work isn't too hard, i can wrap my brain around that stuff, very simple

Well, I just replaced the slave cylinder and flushed the fluid. First and especially reverse is still difficult to enter after starting the car, and sitting in neutral for a minute or two. Oddly enough, If I start the vehicle, and keep the clutch pedal down, I can easily enter first or reverse directly. (After some more time with the car, the issue with 1st seems to be resolved) Reverse is still difficult which is fine I guess.

I'm going to try changing the tranny fluid and see if it makes it any better. I found a tsb on the internet "SN031007 OCT 03 M/T - Hard To Shift Into 1st Gear, Grinds Into Reverse" But couldn't find any more documentation as far as a fix goes. I found some other posts by members who stated when their clutch was replaced as a result of the clutch buzz tsb, the issue went away.

(In fact, the only real issue now is reverse, and clutch drag about 50% of the time where I'll disengage the clutch and the shifter will not leave the gear.

Can anybody shed any light into this.

Thank

Since it's warmed up, the transmission is cooperating a little better. I still have resistance putting the car in neutral under 2000 rpm's. Makes bumper to bumper traffic a pain. I still have the put the car in 2nd /4th to get it to enter reverse and 1st if the car has been sitting a few hours.

I will be replacing the clutch in the next 6 months and let you know how that goes.

I just got my ap1 back from the shop with a new clutch, flywheel and ap2 trans. On the way home, the car felt great. Then out of nowhere I was locked out of every gear. Gonna have to have it towed back tomorrow and have them check my cmc and slave. Maybe my shshift fork shifted or something. I really have no clue.

^Can't believe nobody suggested this before. You have to adjust the master cylinder after install.

If anyone cares. I have the same issue myself.

Just replaced the transmission fluid. No change at all. Going to check the free play on the clutch pedal.
