Hello everyone!
Im wondering what is the diffrence between those differencials?
Im getting 04 diff. put in my car right now, inside-out it looks exacly like any other year(we opened it couple hours ago).
So anybody knows why some people say its stronger than MY00-03?

according to temple of vtec (vtec.net) report
the diff is 10% stronger

Several improvements include reinforcement, different alloy, and better oiling.

 

Diff is 10% stronger = This has still not been supported by Honda or any place that has tested it. It was seen in the press, but where they got the info from is debateable. Temple of vtec maybe? Either way Honda said nothing about the changes at all in anything. Maybe this is because that could/would be an admission of a weckness? I just don't know.
Reinforcement= Conjecture. The carrier caps are exactly was they were before.
Different alloy = Guess. No actual testing done to prove yet.
Better oiling = Ok, this one is a fact. The increased the oil passages to the pinion. Other then that, every thing else inside carries the same Honda Part number as before. Only the carrier (black part of the housing) was changed.
