dip stick?

Thumbs up dip stick?

hey i was driving my car the other day for about an 1hr and when i go home i pop the hood and my dip stick is out and oil is all over my motor. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?????

it means your dipstick popped out. just kidding, from reading on here it happens from time to time to some people. just check it once in a while, you should be ok just clean the mess up.

Exactly. Meteor hits your car -- that's something that "just happens". Dipstick popping up means something has gone wrong with your crankcase pressure.

Shouldn't the OEM crankcase ventilation system have enough "exit" to prevent this from happening?

Search and you'll find posts about putting the dipstick in turned 180 degrees (not upside down )
That way it is more wedged in.

Check the 2 o-rings (mine are green).

This happened to me with my Prelude, and I ended up going through lots of oil, before finally coming to the conclusion that I had collapsed rings. I got it all tore down and had more than just collapsed rings, I had broken rings, and missing rings, and burnt ring lands... I hope this isn't your fate, but just giving you my own experience. Run a compression chech. That will tell you a lot.

I had my dipstick replaced under warranty as the 1st step and it hasn't popped up since being replaced.
