Dip stick issue
I have a reoccuring with the dip stick popping out partially under hard acceleration.
The dip stick comes out to the point where I have to push it back in a notch but the buttom rubber part is covering the hole completly. I currently have 13,000+ and had this problem as far as I can remember when the car was new. I was never concerned about the problem since there was no oil leaking. A few of my mechanically inclined frends have told me (who do not own an S2) that this is now normal and should have pressure tests done to the block. My question is, is this normal for the S2 or should I have this checked out?
Also I just read a thread that stated that Mobil 1 is no longer fully synthetic...
could this be true?
Thanks in advance

when that started happening to my GSR, that meant that i had blow-by. my number one piston was shot. it all happened after i got my drag 3 turbo installed. you should go get a compression test asap. did you ever shoot nitrous into the motor? any mods?
I think enough people have had this occur without engine 'problems', that it might be considered 'normal'. There have been threads about this and how people make sure the oil is off the the rubber part to reduce popping out incidences.
I feel that this does indicate increased crankcase pressure at times, due to blowby. The popping out has decreased to very rare on my car since the car started burning less oil and the rings have seated better, probably due to switching back to mineral based motor oil for awhile.
