Disappointing EBC results
I gave the EBC Green pads every chance to perform and they just did not.
Rather than a good start I found myself in a bad position at an event a couple of months ago.. my R4S pads that were maybe 60% gone did not take the heat of longer track sessions and were crumbling enough to prompt me to switch pads at the track. I installed the EBC

You might have read one of my reviews on the Greens - testing in the UK must be vastly different than ours - maybe b/c its so cold, their rotors are naturally cryogenically treated.. who knows.
The EBCs let me down. Running the Carbotech Panthers at Sebring - I'll post the results. Is it me, or does Carbotech sound like a diet supplement?

Thanks for the report. I was about to try out the EBC brand since many of the others aren't getting good results either.
I wonder which brand has good track results. I guess I'll stick with OEM for now.

The greens are not designed for track use on anything but lightweight cars. They worked well on my CRX, but it has a race weight of about 2050 lbs - significantly lighter than an S2K. At the T-hill event I had no wear issues. In fact, after over 100 track miles I couldn't tell they had been raced.
If you want to try more EBC products, consider the Yellows. Personally, I'm looking at trying the Carbotechs as well, so I look forward to Joe's report.

I have EBC Greens on my MY00 WRX. I had the rotors machined before fitting them and bedded them in properly. Initial bite feels OK but rising pedal pressure does not lead to proportionally greater retardation. It's as if the friction coefficient is not constant with clamping force. On the track they gave poor pedal feel and only adequate retardation, though they didn't fade. I ended up using the ABS because I just couldn't feel anything. The WRX has very good 4 piston fixed front brakes and it ought to do better. My S2000 stopped better on stock pads on the same track. The EBC pads also use the rotor more and make more dust than you'd be lead to believe from the marketing. I won't be buying them again.
The EBC's have a generally good reputation here in the UK. But this is not on S2000s, but more hot hatches. (Civics, ITR's etc.). Even then it's more a good fast road pad than track pad. The more regular track runners use Red Stuff, if they use EBC. Though the reputable car preperation companies seem to laugh at the mention of EBC, and point the owner towards Pagid or Mintex. (Porterfield doesn't seem to be available over here.)
Thanks for posting and giving the EBC Green Stuff a go. I don't think I'll try them in the UK!
Based off posts from friendly US guys, there is already a little mini group buy for Porterfield pads and other bits under way. (Still waiting for Pagid/Mintex S2000 pads...)
