Disconnecting sway bars to adjust suspension?
I noticed on a couple threads that some recommend you loosen or disconnect the sway bars when getting the car corner weighed.
I have not gotten my car weighed, but I had a hard time setting the same ride height around my car. Everytime I adjusted one side the other would drop or raise accordingly both in the front and rear. Could this be the function of the sway bar being attached? I had a weird incident recently, which also leads me to believe this. My rear suspension, after being adjusted a bunch of times to make it match, always had the driver side about 1/4 of an inch higher. I hit a massive dip the other day in the road, causing I the rear to hit the bump stops with a fierce bump. Well right after that, now both sides on the rear sit even and perfect. Could this have been the sway bar loosening or something back there? |
