You guys need to get one of those brilliant $100 all-aluminum jacks from Price Club. Low profile ftw.

When changing the filter the car actually takes 5.5 quarts instead of 5.1 a view supported by Billman going by his posts.

Bat711:

Do you take the car back to the dealer to reset your maintenance minder?

You can do that yourself. Do a quick search and you will find it =]

u need a better jack... even a low pro from walmart works well for a stock height s2k. Heck, it worked well with my old saleen that was way lower than the s2k.

my stealership told me to fill 5.5 quarts. i was questioning the correctness of it since in my previous 06 model which i did all the oil changes in, i always used only 5 quarts and it was fine. so the actual amount needed is 5.1?
edit: i now have an MY07. pretty much no difference to the amount of oil i need

That's crazy talk!

My oil change consists of:

- 17mm socket and ratchet
- Channel locks (much better than a filter wrench )
- Oil catch pan
- New filter
- "5.1" qts. of your preferred 10w-30 motor oil (or 5w-40 if you will be seeing regular -0F temps)
- 2 2x4s to roll the front wheels up on to.

The trick is to get yourself a CAI so that there is no need to go under the car

I am wondering if I use Synthetic Oil, the change interval is longer. So do we still change oil based on the oil life monitor?
