Thinking about doing this over the winter; I can figure out the LED codes but since polarity matters, I'll need to plug in the dash and the battery to test before bolting everything back up. Would the airbag go off if the steering wheel column is still lowered?

More than ten years old now lol. Maybe if a mod sees this, they can edit/update the original post as all the numbers for the Radio Unit Side have changed. I also added bulbs for other switches to the list for easy reference. Maybe also include this link to removal/install procedure since it has pictures: http://www.qube-engineering.com/Docu...nsAP1_v1.1.pdf

- (4) 35855-S2A-505 (Short Black)

Hey hey hey team, does anyone have guidance on vendors with these bulbs still available? I just picked up an S2K with nearly every bulb blown.

If you like to do fiddly work over winter, you should be able to purchase the bulbs alone at some elctronic store and replace them. The Bulbs are simply insertetd into the socket and the wires wrapped around it.

I just took apart my AP1 (received in April of 2000) and there is definitely a plastic bar under the column that would prevent it from coming completely down. However, the OP recommends leaving the bolts inserted a few turns, and that holds the column up enough that it doesn't rest on the plastic bar. I'd be worried that the column and steering wheel are heavy enough to break that plastic bar, so I didn't want to put any stress on it.

3. Torque all nuts properly (16lbf for the forward-most nuts, 12lbf for the mid-column nuts). See Photos for Reference
This wasn't clear to me, at first, with everything referred to as "nuts"
I think it's clearer to say:

16 lb-ft for the forward-most *bolts*
12 lb-ft for the mid-column nuts

This list was perfect for my AP1, thank you.
