Default do i need a Valve adjustment after 10k miles?

hey fellas..
i just hit 14k miles on my car, and i had this feeling at about 13k miles.
i feel it produce less power than b4, at 4k rpms and below..

but everything it's fine, above 4k rpms it feels same as b4...

so is it because of the valve adjustment i need to get done?

anyone know anything like this?

thx
Leo

Could it be that it is summer and you're driving in hotter temps?

I think you should have the valves adjusted.

I do it for free when we run tech days down here. The dealer charges up to $300. So, somewhere in between would be a fair price. It takes a couple hours to do it right.

On most of the cars that I've checked, the adjustment is at worst slightly loose from the factory, and setting it towards the lower end of spec improves smoothness, but has a minimal effect on power.

CoralDoc,

I cannot tell you how many S2000 owners have recounted how MUCH MORE POWERFUL their engine was after a valve adjustment. Not a minimal effect, but a noticeable difference. javascript:add_smilie("")

Did they perform before and after dynomometer runs, or was it a seat of the pants feeling?
