Default does anyone have straight pipe?

I have them done today. But the check engine light was on. They did a nice job put back the oxygen sensor. but the light still on. Will I hurt my engine if I changed to straight pipe?
by the way, I got comptech header and HKS exhaust.
IS there any way to fix this problem?

Do a search for "test pipe". This is the reason why so few people remove the catalytic converter on the S2000 with the stock ECU. You can resolve this by going with a Mugen ECU, but there are several threads that discuss the quest for a cheaper solution.

There is no "problem," other than increased emissions and not being able to identify another cause for a check engine light (since the light will already be on). You are not hurting the engine.

Do a search, there are a few ways to fool the ECU into thinking the cat is there and maintain Check Engine light functionality.

Maybe one day Casper's will have a fix. But for now, their 02 simulator still doesn't work.

I don't believe so, at least not for the O2 problem. At least, not on Preludes.

the ecu didnt go into safe mode. I feel more power then before, and didnt lose any torque.
but I still have to find a way to bypass the light

sounds like F1 race car, but not that loud. if I dont change the ECU, what will happen . By the way, if you change to straight pipe, you will feel lot more power then before with out losing any torque .
Car still runs great with engine light on

That's the secondary o2...the car only goes into "limp" if something happens to the primary
