Hey found this on ebay, and pardon my ignorance for reposting but is this some sort of kit to block the EGR valve?

I'm not sure what this dipshit is smoking- there is NO EGR on the F20C. They eliminated it and replaced it with an air injection system. Not only is this air not hot, it gets injected into the exhaust, not the intake. Exhaust gas never runs near the intake, so I have no idea what this guy is talking about.

I wonder if he is referring to the hose that runs from the valve cover back to the intake. I've seen some people replace that hose with a cute little air filter, and cap the nipple on the intake. Wether that is it or not, I think he's full of it.

That is the PCV (Partial Crankcase Ventilation) valve that people put the air filter on.

Not to correct Andrew, but it's "Positive Crankcase Ventilation." It's intended to provide just that, ventilation to the crankcase. Without it the crankcase can actually build pressure from blowby and pop seals, as well as vent combustion gases to the atmosphere (the greenies don't like that). With the PCV system you continually ventilate the crankcase re-injecting that vented gas into the manifold. It's warm, largely burnt/inert air, but it generally doesn't contribute much to power gains.

What's the hose at the front for? It doesn't have a valve on it, so air can pass both ways. Since the PCV connects to the intake manifold, where there is a vaccuum, it seems like there could actually be a constant air flow bypassing the throttle body through the valve cover at partial throttle.

True True True... Marcucci's so polite!!! I had a 50/50 chance.

Wes,
My turbo friends do this mainly to keep the oil (Sometimes oil goes through the PCV valve) out of the intake tract... thus the turbo. It just keeps things clean.
