Does the CDV damage the clutch disc?
So last night, I came upon a nice stretch of road, so I decided to do a quick pull. I started from a slow roll in 1st, shifted at redline into 2nd, and the CDV inhibited acceleration for a good half second before the clutch fully engaged. I've experienced this before, but this one was pretty noticeable. I know my clutch isn't bad because I've done the tests.
I ask this questions because it sounds like a newb riding his clutch at a stoplight. Should I worry about clutch life with spirited driving and the cdv? Or do I simply need to slow down my shifts to compensate? Doesn't that slow the car then?
Needless to say, I'm going to an AP1 slave asap.
Thanks guys!
Edit: I understand this may be a dumb question, but i've never driven a car with a CDV.

My clutch is pretty much done after 54k miles in my 07. I deleted the CDV about a year ago, but ever since I bought the car the clutch slipped, deleting the CDV helped, but wasn't a solution. Need a lighter flywheel as well to actually fix the problem during high rpm shifts.

I think I'm going to get a new clutch with an upgraded pressure plate, so I can keep the flywheel the same. Either way, I really don't like the CDV lol
Thanks for the advice!
