I see.

I completely misunderstood how the LSD works...the simple description of "transferring torque to the wheel with most traction" is an oversimplified description.

thanks for clarifying.

SO i thought i understood how the torsen system worked, but after visiting their site, I found out i had been totally mistaken.

I've been reading up on the torsen system trying to figure out how it exactly it does this torque multiplying business explained on their website
(which kinda seems like a crappy site for a product that big)
nonetheless: http://www.torsen.com/ I guess they just sell themselves.

Apparently when one wheel spins faster, the torque is then taken from that wheel and applied to the opposite wheel, its like mechanical opposite of the differential.

I think that the gears only hit the "thrust washers" when the differential has hit the maximum Torque Bias Ratio. which for the t2 is somewhere between 1.3-1 to 3-1. I dont know what the s2000 runs...

and that is my report on the torsen differential......

What an ingenious invention.
