Default Done a compression test

I have just done a compression test.

Just removed all spark plugs and checked each one in turn (screwing in the reader) , i held the start button down for about 2 seconds with foot flat on accelerator.

Obviously it wont start, im getting 128 on all cyclinders which is good as there reading all the same.

The car was ran for a 15mile trip then left to stand for an hour or so.

Question how come some of you lot get 220? - i think theres something wrong if im only getting 128/129!!!???, but when i read the s2000 tech manual it says it should be 130 @ 250rpm.

cheers

AJ

I think the actual value is dependent on what brand/type of gauge you use.

All you need out of it is the difference between each cylinder. You are ok so it's all good

you need to on average let it turn over for 9-11 times for each cylinder... make sure you remove the fuse for the fuel pump as well

whatever number you choose, try to do it for each cylinder, so you at least get some repeatability

Can you direct to the location of fuse for the fuel pump?

So i follow the same procedure i have been doing? but hold the start button down for say 10 secs - which should turn over near 9-10 times.

do i do it on a cold engine or hot?

cheers guys much appreciated!

You should be good if they are all reading the same.

fuel pump fuse is in the kick panel fuses. You can find the location on the cover. I believe its a 15 amp and should be the second one up.

where did you get your averages from?

i think that's way too low as far as averages go.

any opinions on 200, 190, 200, 205?

i'm worried about the 190 in cylinder #2...
