Default Door Hinge Creak

My S2000's passenger door makes 2 knocking sounds when opened. Once at about 50% and the other at about 90%. Now I know there's an old post about this but for one it didn't go into detail and two they told me not to bump such old threads. So here I am sitting on the passenger side and on the door retainer for lack of a better word the one that limits how far the door can open is connected to the chassis of the vehicle. On there there appears to be what might be a thin papery bushing that is torn up. Any ideas as to what to do or where to get an oem replacement? Don't get mad if I messed up while posting I'm new to this. Thanks.

i typically spray my door hinges and the link from door to car with white Lithium spray available at the auto parts store near you. It helps reduce the squeaks and lubricates the door opening/closing. As long as the door opens and closes easily without binding, then try it.

don't know if this helps.

If it's creaking/squeaky, put some Shin Etsu (can be sourced from the Honda dealer) grease on the pins and bushings.
Since you described one of the bushings as being torn though, this may only be a temporary fix.

Put a lot of wd40 on but nothing I still get that loud popping sound. I don't think lubrication is the problem

There is a device, I believe Honda calls a "door checker." It limits the movement of the door and has a detent so that the door stops half-way through its opening motion. There are pivot points, that usually have a rivet or some such pin --- which allows movement of the checker's arm. These pivot points can become worn out with age --- and movement slop and noise results.

The checker may be bought as a separate item from the door. I am not sure if the checker can be replaced without removing the door panels.

Anyhow, you may want to inspect this item for wear and excess play.

Ok guys I bought a new door checker. It said door checker R side I'm assuming right side is passenger side along with the piece around the roof and hazard button for my ap2 console, leather tunnel cover, ap2 radio door, silver dead pedal, and knock sensor. Spent a pretty penny but idc. Will keep you guys updated on all of this. Also can anyone send me a link to a good dashboard replacement diy thread? I know there's one here but it's not very good for a dummy like me. Thanks!

Good luck! I'd put a little grease on the pivot points, prior to replacement.
