Default Drivers Side door will not open...

Ok I have a problem, the drivers side door does not open from the inside of the car at all. The remote will not unlock the drivers side door, but will unlock the passenger side door. Second, the unlock button on the drivers side is just suddenly loose, like the cable broke, but that's not it. If i'm outside the car, unlock both doors, (keep in mind the drivers side does not unlock) and I try to open the drivers side door, it automatically locks the passenger side!?!?!?! So the only way to open the drivers side door, is to put the key it turn it to unlock the door, and keep it turned and open it at the same time, if i try to unlock it normally with the key it will not open. If any ideas please help.

p.s. It seems like the cable may have broke for the unlock switch, but it also seems like i have an electrical problem too.

The unlock mechanism is not a cable it's actually a pushrod. Pull the interior off the driver's side door and take a look at it. There are some plastic pieces in the linkage that may have broken.

I understand that the linkage could be broken, but would that being broken cause the funky proablem of locking all the doors or whatever?

There are numerous linkages in the door mechanism. It could be any one of them that has failed, or a combination of them. Until you inspect them its a WAG as to the exact problem. Even xviper would not know the specific cause of your problem as his crystal ball has been in the repair shop for some time now .

Just an anecdote - the plastic inside door actuator broke on my MY 2000 car where it attached to the pushrod. The pushrod fell down and caused all kinds of strange symptoms because of where it jammed. I'm not saying that this is the problem you are having, merely it is an illustration of what might be wrong. I fixed the actuator with JB Weld and the repair lasted until I sold the car 2 years later.

I found the problem, the lock switch thingy broke, so I had to jb weld it back together, hopefully it holds, and for somereason now the power locks work properly with the door panel off the car.
