Drivetrain Chatter
Hello All,
I just wanted to share my recent experience regarding a drive train problem and solution.
About a 2 years ago I lowered my MY2004 on espelirs and Koni yellows. The first thing I noticed was a peculiar chatter coming from the rear. It would only happen when I clutch out of gear while deccelerating. It sounded like a pair of toy teeth that was chattering. A year later the chatter turned into vibrations under acceleration. Did some searching on the forums and found that my cv joints were pitted. I swapped them from side to side and the vibration was gone for another 6months before coming back. This time I decided to install t1r halfshaft spacers from. Tony from Evassive was super chill in helping me resolve a credit card issue. One day later I recieved the spacers and installed them. Not only did the vibrations go away but also the chattering.
Point of the story is that if you are experiencing chattering in the rear and you are lowered, you might want to consider going straight to spacers instaed of performing the cv swap.
Thanks for reading,
Mike
