Well I posted a while back about problems that I've been having with my car that the dealer couldn't help me with it and just told me to keep driving until something breaks. Nobody responded the last time, so I'm trying again. I still have that same problem, and it seems to have been getting worse. Whenever my car rolls in neutral, I hear this deep ticking noise that I can actually feel through the shift knob. The ticking gets faster as the car rolls faster. When I engage gear, the noise goes away, but turns into a high pitched whirring noise that is especially noticeable at around 55mph. My cousin had this same ticking noise with his Integra and it turned out to be his axels. Just as a test, I lifted the rear end of my car to see if anything was stuck in between anything. I turned one of the rear wheels, and to my surprise, the other wheel did not even move (neutral). It was almost like a slipping clutch. As I would turn the wheel, the other wheel would move like an inch trying to grab on, but just couldnt. When I would stop moving the wheel, or move it in the opposite direction, it would catch and start moving, but only in the same direction as the way I was turning it. If I stopped and started turning it fastly, the other wheel would again do a "clutch Slipping" act. As it's slipping, I could hear loud clanking sounds coming from the car as well. Is it possible that my LSD AND axels have gone bad at the same time? I thought usually it's one-by-one. My car is lowered, but the problems where there before I lowered it, and I tiold my dealer about the problem before it was lowered as well. Any advice on what I should tell my dealer so they fix it? Thanks in advance to those that respond.

this is your diff dying. btw, to do the diff test you want to put it in gear, then spin a wheel and see if the other one moves. Have you put in an aftermarket diff? If not, you don't have any slipping clutches in your diff since it doesn't have any.

if you had it in neutral and it did that, I don't think it's very good. Your ticking reminds me of what I heard for a while before my diff blew up. When I first brought it in for ticking (btw my car was 100% stock at the time) they just changed the fluids and sent me on my way. Three weeks later, wham! It blew up. They replaced it as a 1-time warranty fix but it should've been an ordinary warranty repair, especially since they ignored it when I brought it in to be checked.

Go get it looked at ASAP.

Could my axels be damaged as well? Last night when I was on the freeway, I took my car over 100mph and it made a loud thump noise as if something snapped. After that the sound has gotten even worse.

that's your diff...you come one step closer to a tow truck every time you do something like that. You're lucky it didn't seize on you at over 100mph, that probably wasn't the best idea in the world.
