Do you have a ballpark idea what this will cost to replace by Honda?
The bearing has to been pressed out and a new one pressed into the knuckle or hub (15 minutes). I can't find a listing for this bearing, only the complete knuckle ($200.00). But I'm almost sure you can just get the bearing, which should run you about 30 bucks. Then the labour to dismantle the knuckle or hub might take a couple of hours. Check with your dealer. I'm sure they'll have a "job rate" for this listed in their books.
Afterwards, it may be necessary to get an alignment as a precaution.

Thanks, the guy I bought the car from purchased it 'Honda Certified' so it came with a 7yr 100,000 powertrain/drivetrain warranty, but I am guessing wheel bearings aren't covered. Thanks for the input

Well, this depends. Since Honda has a TSB for the spindle nut greasing and upping the torque on it. If you ask about this, you may get a goodwill job out of it. A loose spindle nut "could" cause premature bearing failure, however, the dealer may put the onus upon you to have brought this to their attention long ago.

Just took my car into Honda yesterday. They called me today and said that the noise was coming from the tranny and they had it torn apart waiting on parts. I'll have to wait until then to know what they needed to replace to fix the whine. They also said it wouldnt hurt getting a new clutch, but want $1500 for it even when the tranny is off already! Since clutches aren't covered by the warranty, can installing an aftermarket clutch void it anyway?
