ECU and Comptech SC
I think Scot can answer this question better. But since it's optimize for N/A I would think that ignition may be advanced in a few points. Not good for force induction. Also improvements in the fuel side have been realize by leaning the mixture so the Mugen ECU may lean the mixture too.

I have the Mugen ECU (never installed it) and am waiting for my supercharger to arrive... I first sent off e-mail to King to find out exactly what differs between the stock and Mugen ECU (no word yet). Second, I asked Comptech about using the Mugen with their kit.
Okay, what I found out: The Mugen removes all "limp home safeties" that retard timing when the engine sensors detect a hazardous environmental/engine environment (too high intake air temp, high engine temp, etc). Second, rumor has it that not only does the Mugen ECU have a more agressive air/fuel mapping with less regard for emissions but it advances the timing as well.
Comptech has not done ANY testing of their kit with anything other than the stock ECU and has no time to do so. Additionally, use of ANY ECU other than the stock one will void the supercharger warranty and any warranty of engine damage due to the Comptech supercharger.
So, is it worth taking the chance of hurting your engine? No. I merely wanted the Mugen ECU because it negates the second O2 sensor (I have a BYS straightpipe with no catalyst). I believe that I will be selling my ECU on the board soon...

Just a silly question,
I checked the official web site of Mugen,Japan but
I can never found a ECU for S2000 in their catalog.
I know their info on the site is up to date since they
had already post out the price and photos of the hard top
and ss2200 body kit.
Where did you buy the 'mugen ECU' from?
Mugen had integra, civic ECU for sale but what
about S2000?
How do you distinguish it is a real stuff?

Ok here we go again.
The info about S2000's N1 ECU is can be found in the Mugen's official Japanese site.
Click the NEWS, click the 2/1 update link
and it will take you to Motor Sport Parts page.
From then on, look at the section with N1-ECU and it is at the bottom of the lists for other cars after the NSX.
You can only see the price and brief description and that is it, if you want my hands on experience as well as some pictures of the product and data sheet, access this:

Questions,
What are the tangible side effects of losing the immobilizer (Mugen ECU case)? More specifically, is the keyless entry function disabled? Does the little, green key idiot light display continuously? Also, 1Randyc mentions sensor "cuts". Does the Mugen ECU actually ignore the information provided by these "cut" sensors or does it simply allow for wider sensor margins before taking corrective action? Can anyone tell me which sensors are "cut", or is this a Mugen secret? Also, why would Mugen eliminate the "limp-home" mode? I mean, even with more aggressive programming there is a point where it knows something stinks in Tokyo.
