Default ECU Part number question

I’m looking for a OEM ECU for my UK car with the part number ending either G02 or G03. I’ve found one online, also in the UK but it has come off an AP2 K20 engine (mines a uk 2004 so AP1 facelift and an F20C).

I guess my question is, so long as the part number matches, is that all I need worry about? (I know I need the get the keys recoded).

Thanks

If its got the full exact part number you are looking for, you are good.
Honda doesn't sell different parts under the same number.

AP2 K20 engine? Typo?

All AP2 engines are F22C1 and Drive-by-Wire so I'm not sure how an ECU for an AP2 engine will work with your "Drive-by-Cable" AP1 engine. AP2 engines are exclusive to North America and Japan.

Yeah, I took that to either be a typo as the AP1 facelift often gets called AP2 by mistake in the UK OR it could be an import maybe. That’s partly why I asked about the part number.

Google the complete Honda part number and see what turns up.

I think part numbers 37820-PZX-A06 through -A14 are the newer reflashable ECUs 06+ which leads me to believe -A01 thru -A05 are for the non DBW ECUs, 2000 thru 2005. Assuming there are UK DBW cars they'll be slightly different from the US models as all US DBW cars have the 2200cc AP2 engine with a slightly lower red line and rev-limiter.

-A14 seems to be a universal replacement for all the DBW 2006-2009 cars at least in North America.
-A05 seems to be the universal replacement for the US model year 2000 to 2005 cars.

You're right. Part numbers are a little confusing . North American '04 and '05 are indeed F22C1.

When I google 37820-PZX-A05 this morning it notes "Replaces 37820-PZX-A03, 37820-PZX-A04, 37820-PZX-A02" which are F22C1 in North America and for 2004 and 2005 cars. Interesting there are three (3) ECU variations for two (2) model years.

A second cup of coffee and more digging in the parts listings shows 37820-PCX-A01 fits the F20C (AP1) engines: Papa Charlie Xray.

I am in AMER,

37820-PZX-A03, 37820-PZX-A04, 37820-PZX-A02 - do these ECU rev to 8k or 9k rpm. Are these classified as AP1 or AP2? and can they fit AP2.

Sorry getting lost with all these windows and researching part numbers.

As I wrote back in January in the note just above this these are all S2000 ECUs which have part numbers starting with 37820-PZX-

All are for 2004-2005 AP2 engines. Some note "replaced by" a higher revision. So they should all fit your 2005 car with the AP2 engine. High number A05 wins.

None are tunable so the rev limiter (fuel cutoff) is 8200rpm.

Something happen to your ECU? What revision is it?
